If you need a medical certificate, for work, school or university, sport, or to care for a family member who is unwell, we can help.
A certificate is provided as part of a consultation, so the doctor can properly assess you or your child (or, for a carer's certificate, understand the situation) before issuing it. That is not red tape, it is what makes the certificate valid and appropriate. In many cases this can be a short appointment, and where suitable it can be done by telehealth.
If you or your child is unwell and will need a certificate, it is best to see us early rather than after the fact, since certificates are based on the doctor's assessment at the time.
When to book: if you need a medical certificate for work, school, study, sport, or carer's leave.
Some things do not need an in-person visit, and telehealth lets you speak with a doctor by phone or video from wherever you are, handy when you are busy, unwell, travelling, or simply cannot get in.
It works well for many things, discussing results, follow-ups, repeat prescriptions, mental health support, quick questions, and managing ongoing conditions. Some situations do need an in-person examination, and we will always tell you honestly when that is the case and get you booked in.
Telehealth appointments are available to eligible patients, and because Medicare rules apply to who can be seen this way, our team will let you know if a telehealth or in-person appointment is right for what you need.
When to book: if you would like to see a doctor by phone or video for something that does not need an in-person visit.
You don't need a diagnosis to book an appointment. Most visits to a GP are simply the ordinary stuff of staying well, and that's exactly what we're for.
Come to us when you're run down, when something hurts, when a symptom won't go away, or when you're just not sure and would rather ask. Whether it's a passing bug or the start of something you want to keep an eye on, we'll help you make sense of it and know what to do next.
And the real value of a regular GP shows over time, someone who knows you, so you're never explaining your whole history from the beginning.
When to book: whenever something's not right, or you'd simply like to see a doctor.
If you are an established patient of the practice and take a regular, stable medication, you may not always need a full appointment just to continue it. For many everyday medications, we offer a repeat prescription service without a consultation, so topping up your script is quick and convenient.
Here is how it works. You request your repeat through our booking portal on HotDoc, our doctor reviews your file and your history, and where it is safe and appropriate, issues the script for you to collect or have sent on. A small fee applies for this service, and you can find the details on our Fees page.
There are some sensible limits, for your safety. Certain medications, and anything that needs regular monitoring or review, will still need an appointment, and your doctor may ask you to come in if it has been a while since your last review or if there is something worth checking. That is not about making you jump through hoops, it is about making sure your medication is still right for you.
When to request: if you are an established patient needing a repeat of a regular medication, request it through our HotDoc booking portal, no appointment needed for eligible medications.
If you take warfarin, regular INR checks are an important part of staying safe, they tell us how your blood is clotting, so your dose can be kept in the right range, and we make it easy to stay on top of them.
We can check your INR here at the practice, often with a quick finger-prick test that gives a result on the spot, so there is usually no need for a separate trip to pathology. Your doctor reviews the result, adjusts your warfarin dose if needed, and lets you know clearly what to take and when your next check is due.
Because staying in range matters, both too low and too high carry risks, we will help you keep your checks on schedule and keep everything coordinated with the rest of your care.
When to book: if you take warfarin and need a routine INR check, or your doctor has asked you to come in for monitoring.
When your doctor orders blood tests or other pathology, there is a collection centre on site, so in many cases you can have your sample taken without a separate trip elsewhere.
The pathology service at our location is operated independently by DHM Pathology. Having it on site is simply about convenience for you, your doctor will discuss which tests you need and why, provide your request form, and you are always free to use whichever pathology provider you prefer.
Once your results are back, your doctor will review them and contact you about anything that needs discussion or follow-up, so nothing falls through the cracks.
When to book: pathology is arranged as part of your care, so your doctor will let you know if you need tests, no separate booking needed.
If you want to be proactive about your long-term health, a longevity consultation is an unhurried, in-depth appointment focused on helping you stay well and active for as many years as possible.
Rather than waiting for problems to appear, we take a considered look at the things that genuinely shape long-term health, your cardiovascular and metabolic health, weight, sleep, activity, stress, family history, and preventive screening. Where useful, we will arrange appropriate, evidence-based investigations, and talk through what the results mean for you. From there we build a practical, personalised plan aimed at reducing your future health risks and supporting healthy ageing.
This is grounded in good medicine, not quick fixes or unproven treatments. It is about understanding your health properly and making the changes that genuinely make a difference over time.
When to book: if you would like a thorough, preventive approach to your long-term health and healthy ageing.
Perimenopause is the stretch of years leading up to menopause, and it can start earlier than many people expect, sometimes in your early 40s or even late 30s. Because your periods are often still coming, it is easy not to realise that is what is going on.
The signs can be subtle and easy to put down to something else, changes in your cycle, disrupted sleep, mood swings, anxiety, brain fog, low energy, or hot flushes that come and go. If you have been feeling not quite yourself and are not sure why, this is well worth a conversation.
We will take the time to understand what you are experiencing, review your history and any relevant health factors, and arrange tests where they help, so we can work out together what is going on. From there we will talk through what may help, from practical support for sleep, mood, and energy through to treatment options where they are appropriate, and stay alongside you as things change.
When to book: if you are noticing changes in your cycle, sleep, mood, or energy, and wonder whether perimenopause may be part of it.
If a medical condition or disability affects your ability to walk, a NSW Mobility Parking Scheme permit can make getting out and about much easier, and we can complete the medical certification your application needs.
Every application has to be certified by a doctor. You fill in your part of the Mobility Parking Scheme application form first, then bring it to your appointment and we will complete and sign the medical certificate section, confirming whether you meet the eligibility criteria. These cover things like loss of use of a leg, a condition that affects your ability to walk a short distance, needing a mobility aid such as a frame or wheelchair, or permanent blindness. If you hold a NSW licence, we may also need to complete a fitness-to-drive section as part of the same form.
Once we have completed our part, the form is returned to you to lodge with Service NSW. We will take the time to assess you properly and fill everything in accurately, so your application is not held up.
When to book: if you would like to apply for or renew a Mobility Parking Scheme permit, bringing your part of the application form completed.
If you need a medical for a new job, an insurance policy, or a similar requirement, we can complete it properly and get you on your way.
Bring the forms and details of exactly what is required, and we will work through it, this might include a general health check, vision, hearing, blood pressure, urine or blood tests, and completing the specific paperwork the employer or insurer needs. We will let you know clearly if anything comes up that is worth following up on for your own health, too.
Booking a dedicated appointment for these means we can give the assessment the time it needs and complete the paperwork accurately, so there are no hold-ups at the other end.
When to book: if you need a pre-employment, insurance, or similar medical, bringing all the relevant forms and requirements.
Blocked or uncomfortable ears, muffled hearing, or a feeling of fullness are often down to a simple build-up of wax, and it is easily and safely sorted here at the practice.
We can examine your ears, work out what is going on, and clear excess wax gently using the right method for you. If there is anything more to it, an infection, or a change in your hearing worth looking into, we will pick that up at the same time and advise on what to do next.
It is a quick, comfortable appointment, and most people walk out hearing noticeably better than when they came in.
When to book: if your ears feel blocked, your hearing is muffled, or you have a build-up of wax you would like cleared.
If you are thinking about a cosmetic treatment, the right place to start is an unhurried consultation with a doctor who will take your concerns seriously and give you honest, realistic advice.
In your consultation, we will talk through what is bothering you and what you are hoping to achieve, assess your suitability properly, and explain the options that may be appropriate for you, including what each involves, the risks, and what to expect. There is no pressure, our role is to help you make a safe, well-informed decision that is right for you.
Any treatment we may offer is provided by an appropriately trained doctor, after a proper assessment and consultation, in line with professional and regulatory standards.
When to book: if you would like to discuss your cosmetic concerns and options with one of our doctors.
Whether it is a wound that is taking its time to heal, one that needs regular dressing, or care after a procedure, our nurses are here to look after it properly.
We manage all kinds of wounds, cuts and lacerations, post-surgical wounds, ulcers, and chronic wounds that need ongoing attention. Our nursing team will clean and dress the wound, keep a close eye on how it is healing, and let your doctor know if anything needs a closer look. For wounds that need regular dressing changes, we can set up a schedule so it stays on track.
Good wound care makes a real difference to how well and how quickly things heal, so it is worth having done well.
When to book: if you have a wound that needs dressing or attention, or ongoing wound care as part of your treatment.
Sometimes heart symptoms come and go, which makes them hard to catch in a short appointment. A Holter monitor solves that by recording your heart continuously as you go about your normal day.
We fit a small, portable monitor that you wear for 24 hours or longer, going about life as usual. It captures your heart's rhythm the whole time, so we can pick up anything that only shows up now and then, like occasional palpitations or irregular beats. Once it is returned, the recording is analysed and your doctor will go through the results with you.
It is a simple, unobtrusive way to get a much fuller picture of how your heart is behaving.
When to book: if you have intermittent symptoms like palpitations or dizziness, or your doctor has recommended monitoring.
An ECG is a simple, painless test that records your heart's electrical activity, and we can do it right here at the practice.
It takes only a few minutes, small sensors are placed on your chest, arms, and legs, and the machine records how your heart is beating. It helps us check your heart rhythm, look into symptoms like palpitations, chest discomfort, or dizziness, and keep an eye on your heart health over time or before certain treatments.
Your doctor will talk you through what it shows, and arrange anything further if it is needed.
When to book: if you have symptoms like palpitations or chest discomfort, or your doctor has recommended an ECG.
If Transport for NSW has asked you to have a medical assessment to keep your licence, we can take care of it here, properly and without fuss.
These assessments are needed in a few situations, not just one. From 75, drivers need a Fitness to Drive medical assessment every year to keep an unrestricted licence. Some heavy-vehicle and commercial drivers need regular assessments regardless of age. And any driver may be asked to be assessed if a medical condition could affect their driving.
Your assessment is carried out against the national Assessing Fitness to Drive standards, the same standards every doctor uses, so we will check the things that matter for safe driving, including your vision, general health, and any relevant conditions. If something needs a closer look, we will let you know clearly and arrange it. Once you are assessed as fit, we can submit the NSW Fitness to Drive Medical Assessment form to Transport for NSW online, which is quicker than lodging paper at a service centre.
If you are 75 or over, Transport for NSW will post you the form about eight weeks before your birthday, and it needs to be completed before your birthday, so it is worth booking in once it arrives. This is also a natural time for a broader health check, and if you are due for your 75+ health assessment, we can look at doing both together.
When to book: when you receive your Fitness to Drive form from Transport for NSW, or if you need a commercial or condition-related driving medical, bringing any forms you have been sent.
If you have been feeling tired, foggy, short of breath, or just not yourself, low iron may be part of the picture, and it is worth getting to the bottom of properly.
We start with an assessment. Your doctor will look at your symptoms and your history and arrange the right blood tests, so we can confirm whether your iron really is low and whether an infusion is the appropriate treatment for you. For some people, tablets or dietary changes are the better first step; an infusion is for when it is genuinely the right choice, not a default.
If an infusion is appropriate, we give it here in our dedicated infusion pod, following proper clinical guidelines to keep you safe and comfortable. That includes checking your blood pressure and monitoring your wellbeing throughout, so any effects are picked up early and managed. The appointment takes around 45 minutes, and we will explain everything as we go and keep an eye on you the whole time.
Afterwards, many people notice their energy lifting over the following weeks, and we will usually recheck your levels down the track to make sure things are staying where they should.
When to book: if you have symptoms of low iron, or have been told your iron is low and would like it assessed.
A trip overseas is exciting, and a little preparation beforehand means you can enjoy it without health worries getting in the way.
Come and see us well before you go, ideally around six weeks ahead, so there is time for any vaccinations to take effect. We will look at exactly where you are heading and what you will be doing, then advise on the vaccinations and precautions you need, from routine travel vaccines to malaria prevention, and practical advice on food, water, and staying well while you are away. If you have ongoing health conditions or take regular medications, we will help you plan around those too, so you are set up for a smooth trip.
You are welcome to bring your itinerary, the more detail we have, the more tailored the advice.
When to book: as soon as you start planning international travel, ideally six weeks or more before you leave.
Losing your hair can be unsettling, and it is a lot more common than most people talk about. It is also worth looking into properly, because the causes vary and so do the options.
We will take the time to understand what is going on, hair loss can stem from genetics, but also from stress, nutrition, thyroid or hormonal factors, and other health conditions that are worth checking. After assessing you and arranging any useful tests, we will talk through the approaches that may suit your situation and what each realistically involves, so you can make an informed decision without any pressure.
When to book: if you have noticed hair thinning or loss and would like to understand the cause and your options.
Erectile dysfunction is very common, especially as men get older, and it is nothing to be embarrassed about. It is also very treatable, and often it is an early signal of something else worth checking, so it is well worth a conversation.
Because erection difficulties can be linked to heart health, blood pressure, diabetes, hormones, stress, or medications, we will look at the whole picture rather than just the symptom. That means a proper check-up as well as a frank, comfortable discussion about what is going on. From there we will explain the options that may be appropriate for you and decide together on the right approach.
Whatever you raise stays between you and your doctor.
When to book: if you are experiencing erection difficulties or other concerns about your sexual health.
Many minor skin and surgical procedures can be done right here at the practice, which means familiar surroundings, a team you know, and no need to be sent elsewhere for something straightforward.
Depending on what you need, this can include biopsies to check a spot, removing skin cancers and other lesions, cryotherapy (freezing) for sunspots and minor skin problems, and minor surgery such as removing cysts or lumps. Where a wound needs stitches, we take care to do it well, including flap and graft repairs when a little more is needed to heal and restore the skin neatly.
We will always explain what is involved beforehand, what to expect during and after, and how to care for the area as it heals. If a procedure is more than we should do here, we will arrange the right referral.
When to book: if you have a spot or lump you would like looked at or removed, or have been advised you need a minor procedure.
Prolia is an injection given every six months to strengthen bone and reduce the risk of fractures. It is used both to treat osteoporosis and to protect bone in people at increased risk of bone loss, including those on certain long-term treatments that can weaken the bones over time.
Your first injection is given by one of our doctors, so we can talk through how the treatment works, make sure it is the right fit for you, and get you started safely. After that, our nurses look after your ongoing six-monthly injections here at the practice, and we will help you keep track of when each dose is due, because staying on schedule matters for it to keep working well. We will also keep an eye on your bone health more broadly, and coordinate with the rest of your care so everything works together.
If you have been advised you may benefit from Prolia, or would like to understand your bone health and options, we are happy to talk it through.
When to book: if you are due for your six-monthly Prolia injection, or would like to discuss whether it is right for you.
If you need vitamin B12 injections, whether for a diagnosed deficiency, a condition that affects how you absorb it, or as part of your ongoing care, we make it easy to keep them on schedule.
Our nurses give B12 injections here at the practice, and we can set you up with regular appointments so you never have to think too hard about when your next one is due. If you are not sure whether low B12 might be behind how you have been feeling, tired, low in energy, or run down, we can look into that too and check whether testing is worthwhile.
When to book: if you are due for a B12 injection, or think you may need one.
Vaccinations are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and the people around you, and we can keep you up to date whatever your age.
We provide the routine vaccinations across life, from childhood immunisations on the National Immunisation Program through to the adult vaccines that matter as you get older, including flu, COVID-19, shingles, pneumococcal, and whooping cough. If you are not sure whether you are due for anything, or you have fallen behind after some time away from regular care, just ask and we will check your history and let you know.
We will also make sure any vaccines your family is eligible for through government programs are given at the right time.
When to book: if you or a family member is due for a vaccination, or you would like us to check what you need.
Difficulties with eating, food, or body image can be isolating and hard to talk about, whether they are affecting you or someone you care for. Reaching out is a brave and important first step, and we will meet it with care and without judgement.
We can help you understand what is going on, look after your physical health, and put the right support around you. Where appropriate, an Eating Disorder Plan can give access to Medicare-subsidised sessions with psychologists and dietitians experienced in this area, and we will help coordinate that care so it works together rather than in pieces.
Recovery takes time, and you do not have to do it alone. We will walk alongside you, at whatever pace is right, and stay involved for the long haul.
When to book: if you or someone you care for is struggling with eating, food, or body image, and would like support.
Note: for urgent help, contact the Butterfly Foundation National Helpline on 1800 33 4673, or 000 in an emergency.
If you find yourself short of breath, wheezing, or coughing more than you should, it is worth getting to the bottom of it rather than putting up with it.
We can assess conditions like asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and here at the practice we offer spirometry, a simple breathing test that measures how well your lungs are working. It helps us diagnose accurately and see how well any treatment is working over time.
From there we will put together a clear plan, make sure you are confident with any inhalers or medications, and review things regularly so your breathing stays as good as it can be. Where it helps, a management plan can also open up subsidised support such as physiotherapy.
When to book: if you have ongoing breathing symptoms, known asthma or COPD needing review, or would like a lung function check.
Whether you have recently been diagnosed or have managed diabetes for years, having a GP who knows you and keeps an eye on the whole picture makes a real difference.
We help with all of it, keeping your blood sugar in a good range, watching the things diabetes can affect over time like your eyes, kidneys, feet, and heart, and adjusting medications as your needs change. For many people, a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan is a useful part of this, giving you access to Medicare-subsidised allied health support such as a dietitian, podiatrist, or diabetes educator.
Just as importantly, we will work with you on the everyday side, food, activity, and the practical habits that keep diabetes manageable rather than overwhelming. Small, steady steps, reviewed regularly, are what keep you well for the long run.
When to book: if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes, are newly diagnosed, or would like a review of how yours is being managed.
When you are taking several medicines, it is easy for things to get complicated, a tablet from one doctor, something over the counter, a change after a hospital stay. A Home Medicines Review is a chance to step back and make sure everything you take still works well together and is doing its job.
Here is how it works. If we think you would benefit, your GP arranges for an accredited pharmacist we work with to visit you at home. They will spend time going through all your medicines and devices with you, how and when you take them, how they are stored, whether anything is causing side effects, and anything you find confusing or hard to manage. Doing this at home, unhurried, often brings up the small practical things that never come up in a short appointment.
The pharmacist then reports back to your GP, and you and your doctor sit down together to work through it and put a clear medication plan in place, adjusting anything that needs it so your routine is simpler, safer, and easier to follow.
It is fully covered by Medicare, so there is no cost to you, and it can be done around once a year if it is helpful.
When to book: if you take several regular medicines, have recently come home from hospital, or find your medicines hard to keep on top of, mention it at your next appointment and we can arrange it.
A fall, or the worry of one, can knock your confidence and your independence. A mobility review looks at why it is happening and what can help you stay steady.
We will consider the things that affect balance and mobility, your strength, vision, medications, blood pressure, footwear, and any hazards around the home. From there we can suggest practical steps, arrange support such as physiotherapy where it helps, and review any medications that might be contributing.
The goal is to keep you doing the things you want to do, safely and with confidence, and to help you stay in your own home for as long as possible.
When to book: if you have had a fall or a near miss, feel unsteady, or would like a review to prevent one.
Bones naturally lose some strength with age, and for some people that leads to osteoporosis, which raises the risk of fractures. The reassuring part is that it can be assessed and managed well.
We can check your bone health, talk through your risk, arrange a bone density scan where needed, and advise on the things that help, including diet, activity, vitamin D, and medication where appropriate. For those who need it, we provide Aclasta (zoledronic acid) infusions here at the practice, a once-yearly treatment, so you can have it done somewhere familiar rather than being sent elsewhere.
We will keep your bone health under review over time, so treatment stays on track and you stay steady on your feet.
When to book: if you have osteoporosis, have had a fracture or a scan showing bone loss, or would like your bone health assessed.
Living with one or more long-term conditions is a lot to juggle, and you should not have to do it alone. We help you manage the whole picture, not just one piece at a time.
If you have an ongoing condition such as diabetes, heart disease, a lung condition, arthritis, or others, we can prepare a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan with you. It is a clear, practical plan that sets out your health goals and how we will work towards them together, and we will review it regularly, usually every few months, to keep it on track as things change.
An important part of the plan is access to Medicare-subsidised allied health care. Depending on your needs, your plan can give you up to five subsidised visits each year to allied health professionals such as a physiotherapist, podiatrist, dietitian, exercise physiologist, or others, and you are free to choose the provider that suits you. We will guide you on what would help and arrange the referrals.
The aim is simple, to help you stay as well and independent as possible, with a team that knows you and keeps everything joined up.
When to book: if you have one or more ongoing conditions and would like a plan, or a review of your current one.
Once you reach 75, you become eligible for a thorough annual health assessment, and it is one of the more worthwhile appointments in the calendar.
It is an unhurried, top-to-toe look at how you are going, your general health, medications, memory, mobility, mood, hearing and vision, and how you are managing day to day at home. The aim is to keep you well and independent, and to pick up anything that is easier to address sooner rather than later.
We can arrange a longer appointment for this, and you are welcome to bring a family member if that helps. You will come away with a clear sense of how things stand and a plan for anything worth attention.
When to book: if you are 75 or over and due for your yearly assessment, or have not had one.
Your late 40s are a smart time to take stock, and Medicare supports a one-off health assessment for people aged 45 to 49 who are at risk of a chronic condition, to help you get ahead of it.
It is an unhurried look at the things that shape your health from here, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight, family history, and lifestyle, along with how you are travelling in yourself. The idea is to spot anything worth acting on while it is easy to influence, and to set you up with a clear plan for staying well through the years ahead.
Think of it as a bit of forward planning for your health. You will leave knowing where you stand and what, if anything, is worth a small change now to save trouble later.
When to book: if you are aged 45 to 49 and would like to make the most of your Medicare-supported health assessment.
Life has its hard stretches, and sometimes they need more than time. Whether you are feeling low, anxious, overwhelmed, or just not yourself, coming in to talk is a good first step, and a normal one.
Our GPs have additional training in mental health, which means you can get real, focused support right here, from a doctor who knows you and your history. We will listen without rushing, help you make sense of what is going on, and work through it together using practical, evidence-based approaches. Appointments can be longer when that is what is needed, so there is room to talk properly rather than watching the clock.
Depending on what would help, that support might include a Mental Health Treatment Plan, which can give you access to subsidised sessions with a psychologist, help with sleep or stress, medication where it is appropriate, or simply regular check-ins as you find your footing. There is no bar you have to reach before it is worth booking, if things feel harder than they should, that is reason enough.
When to book: if you are struggling with your mood, stress, anxiety, or wellbeing, for yourself or someone you care for.
Note: if you are in crisis or need urgent help, please call Lifeline on 13 11 14, or 000 in an emergency.
Looking after your heart does not have to wait for a problem. A heart health check is a simple, positive step you can take now, and it is one of the most worthwhile.
We bring together the things that shape your heart health, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, family history, and everyday lifestyle, into a clear, honest picture. We will talk it through in plain terms, so you understand where you stand rather than leaving with a number and no context. Heart disease affects women as much as men, so this is well worth doing whoever you are.
From there we focus on what actually makes a difference for you, whether that is a few simple changes, keeping a closer eye on things, or treatment where it is genuinely warranted. Small steps now can add up to a great deal down the track.
When to book: if you would like to check in on your heart health, have risk factors or a family history, or are 45 or over (30 or over for First Nations people), when you may be eligible for a Medicare Heart Health Check.
Weight is rarely simple, and it is rarely about willpower. If it is something you would like help with, we will approach it properly and without judgement.
We start by looking at the whole picture, your health, your history, sleep, stress, activity, and how your body works, rather than reaching for quick fixes. From there we put together a realistic plan that fits your life, and keep an eye on the health markers that matter along the way, like blood pressure, blood sugar, and cholesterol.
For some people, lifestyle changes alone do the job. For others they are not enough, and that is not a failure, it is simply how bodies and metabolism work. For those who are suitable, our doctors can also offer medically supported weight management, including prescription treatment options where they are clinically appropriate. This is something we assess and decide together in a consultation, and monitor carefully over time, so any treatment is safe and right for you.
This is ongoing care, not a quick fix. We stay alongside you, review how you are going, and adjust as needed.
When to book: if you would like support with your weight, including whether a medically supported approach may be right for you.
With Australia's sun, keeping an eye on your skin is one of the more important things you can do, and it is quick and easy to have done well.
In a skin check, your doctor examines your skin carefully for anything unusual, new spots, changes to existing ones, or areas you have been wondering about. We will explain what we are looking at as we go, and let you know what is worth watching and what is not.
If we find something that needs a closer look, we can often deal with it here, whether that is a biopsy or removing it, and we will talk you through exactly what that involves. Catching skin cancers early makes them far simpler to treat, so it is well worth booking in, especially if you have noticed a change or have not been checked before.
When to book: if you have noticed a new or changing spot, have not had a skin check, or know you are due.
Midlife is a good time to take stock. You are often busy looking after everyone else, and your own health can quietly slip down the list. A comprehensive check is a chance to put it back near the top.
We will look at the things that matter most now, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight, and your overall risk of heart disease, diabetes, and other conditions that are far easier to manage when caught early. We will also make time for whatever you have been meaning to raise, and talk about how you are travelling more generally, energy, sleep, stress, and mood included.
You will leave with a clear picture of where you stand and a simple plan for anything worth acting on. No alarm, no lectures, just useful information and a sensible way forward.
When to book: if you are due for a check, have not had one in a while, or would like a clear picture of your health.
Asthma and allergies are common in childhood, and with the right plan they need not hold your child back from anything.
We can help you understand what triggers your child's symptoms, get their asthma well controlled, and make sure you are confident using any medications and inhalers. For allergies, we will talk through management, what to avoid, and what to do if a reaction happens, including an action plan for more serious allergies.
We will also put a clear written plan in place that you can share with school or carers, so everyone around your child knows exactly what to do.
When to book: if your child has asthma or allergy symptoms, needs a review, or you would like an action plan.
Once ADHD is diagnosed and treatment is established, much of the ongoing care can happen here with us, rather than every visit needing a specialist. That is true whether the care is for you or for your child.
Through shared care, we work alongside your psychiatrist or paediatrician to manage treatment over time, review how things are going, keep an eye on general health and wellbeing, and adjust the plan as needs change. It means more convenient, familiar care, with specialist input still there when it is needed.
For adults, that can mean fitting reviews around work and life without a specialist trip each time. For children and teens, it means care that grows with them. Either way, we keep everyone on the same page, so things feel joined up rather than scattered.
When to book: if you or your child has an ADHD diagnosis and would like to arrange ongoing shared care with us.
If you are wondering whether your child has ADHD, it can be a lot to navigate, and we are here to help you work through it carefully.
We will start by listening properly, to you, and to your child, about what you are noticing at home, at school, and socially. From there we can guide you through the assessment process, coordinate the information needed, and work with the relevant specialists so that any diagnosis is thorough and well considered rather than rushed.
If ADHD is diagnosed and treatment is appropriate, we will explain the options clearly and support your family in getting started, staying involved through the early stages and beyond.
When to book: if you have concerns about attention, focus, or behaviour, and would like to explore assessment.
Somewhere in the teenage years, health starts to become your own thing rather than something a parent organises. A teen health check is a relaxed way to make that shift, and to get to know a GP you can come back to.
It is a chance to talk about whatever matters to you, how you are feeling in yourself, sleep, energy, skin, mood, or anything you have been wondering about but were not sure who to ask. There are no silly questions here, and nothing you raise will surprise us.
Part of the appointment may be one on one with the doctor, which gives you space to speak freely and to build confidence handling your own health. What you share stays private, within the usual limits we will always be upfront with you about.
When to book: if you are a young person who would like a check or someone to talk to, or a parent helping your teen find their own GP.
Immunisations are one of the most effective ways to protect your child, and we aim to make each visit as calm and easy as possible.
We provide the vaccinations on the National Immunisation Program schedule, and we will keep track of what is due and when, so you do not have to. If you are ever unsure whether your child is up to date, just ask and we will check.
We know needles are not most children's favourite thing, or most parents' either. Our team is gentle and patient, we will talk you both through it, and we are happy to take the time needed to keep things settled.
When to book: when an immunisation is due, or if you would like us to check your child's schedule.
Every child grows and develops at their own pace, and most of the time a little reassurance is all that is needed. But when something does need attention, picking it up early makes a real difference.
We can check in on your child's development across the areas that matter, movement, speech and language, social skills, and learning, and compare notes with what you are seeing at home. If anything would benefit from further support, we will explain it clearly and help you access the right services, whether that is a specialist, allied health, or early intervention.
You know your child best, so if something does not feel right, trust that instinct and come and talk to us.
When to book: if you have any questions about your child's development, or would like a check.
The early years come with a lot of growing, and a lot of questions, and we are here for both.
Regular childhood health checks let us keep an eye on your child's growth, development, hearing, vision, and general wellbeing, and pick up anything worth a closer look while it is easy to address. They also line up with the schedule of childhood immunisations, so much can happen in the one visit.
Just as importantly, they are a chance for you to ask whatever is on your mind, feeding, sleep, behaviour, development, or the small worries that come with parenting. No question is too small, and we would always rather you asked.
When to book: for a routine check, a scheduled immunisation visit, or any time you have a concern about your child.
If you have been feeling flat, low on energy, or noticing changes in mood, drive, or sleep, it is worth looking into rather than putting down to getting older.
Sometimes these changes relate to testosterone levels, but often there is more to the picture, stress, sleep, weight, and general health all play a part. We will take the time to understand what you are experiencing, arrange the right tests, and look at the whole picture rather than jumping to conclusions.
If treatment is appropriate, we will explain the options clearly, including the benefits and the things to weigh up, and keep an eye on how you are going over time.
When to book: if you have noticed changes in energy, mood, drive, or sleep that are not settling.
Prostate health is something worth understanding as you get older, and it is an easy conversation to have with us.
We can talk you through what the prostate does, the changes that can happen with age, and the symptoms worth paying attention to, such as changes to how you pass urine. If prostate cancer screening is on your mind, we will explain what the PSA blood test can and cannot tell you, so you can make an informed choice about whether it is right for you rather than feeling pushed either way.
If you are having symptoms, or have a family history that concerns you, we will assess things carefully and arrange any further checks that are helpful.
When to book: if you have urinary symptoms, a family history, or would like to discuss prostate screening.
Men are famously good at putting off a visit to the doctor, and we get it. But a regular check-in is one of the easiest ways to stay well, and to catch the things that are much simpler to deal with early.
A men's health check is a chance to look at the basics that matter, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, weight, and your risk of heart disease and diabetes, along with anything you have been meaning to ask about but never quite got around to. No lectures, just a clear picture of where you are and what, if anything, is worth acting on.
Whether you have a specific concern or simply know you are overdue, it is worth booking in. Most things are easier to manage when we look at them sooner.
When to book: if you have not had a check in a while, are approaching a milestone age, or have something on your mind.
Looking after your sexual health is a normal part of looking after yourself, and it is something we talk about openly and without judgement.
We offer confidential sexual health checks and screening for sexually transmitted infections, along with advice on prevention, contraception, and vaccination. If something comes back that needs treating, we will handle it discreetly and support you through it, including any conversations about partners that may be needed.
You are welcome to book in for a routine check, because something is worrying you, or simply to ask a question. Whatever the reason, it stays between you and your doctor.
When to book: for a routine screen, if you have symptoms or a concern, or to talk about prevention.
Periods that are heavy, painful, irregular, or simply not what is normal for you are worth looking into, and you do not have to just live with them.
We can help make sense of what is going on, whether that is heavy or painful periods, irregular cycles, symptoms that might point to conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome or endometriosis, or changes you have noticed over time. We will listen to how it is affecting you, arrange any tests that are useful, and talk through the options for managing it.
The aim is simple, to get you comfortable, informed, and feeling like yourself again, with a plan that fits your life.
When to book: if your periods are troubling you, or you have symptoms you would like understood.
Pregnancy is a big journey, and shared care lets you go through much of it with a GP you know, closer to home, while still being connected to your hospital or maternity service.
In shared care, your routine antenatal appointments happen here with us, alongside the scans, tests, and specialist visits arranged through your chosen hospital. We keep an eye on your health and your baby's throughout, answer the questions that come up along the way, and make sure everyone involved in your care is working from the same page.
It is a nice balance, the reassurance of specialist maternity care, with the continuity and comfort of your own practice.
When to book: early in your pregnancy, or when you are planning one, so we can talk through whether shared care is right for you.
If you are thinking about having a baby, a little preparation beforehand can make a real difference, and it is a good time to check in with us.
A pre-conception appointment is a chance to look at your general health, review any medications, make sure your immunisations are up to date, talk about folate and other supplements, and address anything in your history that is worth planning around. If you have any conditions, we will help you get things in good shape before you start trying.
If you have been trying for a while without success, we can talk it through, arrange initial investigations, and where helpful work alongside fertility specialists so your care stays coordinated and familiar.
When to book: if you are planning a pregnancy, or have questions about fertility.
Menopause is a natural stage of life, but that does not mean you have to simply put up with symptoms that are wearing you down. Whether you are going through it now or have come out the other side, there is a lot we can do to help you feel well.
If symptoms like hot flushes, sleep problems, mood changes, brain fog, or low energy are affecting you, a proper assessment is the place to start. We will take the time to understand what you are experiencing, review your history and health factors, and talk through what may help. Menopausal hormone therapy (sometimes still called HRT) suits some people well, and there are non-hormonal approaches too.
Menopause is also an important time to look after your longer-term health, your bones, heart, and overall wellbeing all deserve attention through these years and beyond. We will help you stay well across the whole picture, not just manage symptoms, and review your care over time as your needs change.
When to book: if you are going through menopause, have symptoms affecting you, or would like to review how yours is being managed.
The contraceptive implant is a small, soft rod placed just under the skin of your upper arm. It quietly does its job for up to three years, which makes it a good fit if you would rather not think about contraception day to day.
Fitting the implant is quick and done here at the practice using a little local anaesthetic, so the area is numb. Most people find it very manageable, and we will talk you through what to expect and what is normal afterwards.
We will also go over how it might affect your cycle, since this varies from person to person, and what your options are if it does not suit you. Nothing is permanent, if you change your mind or your plans change, we can remove it here whenever you are ready.
When to book: if you would like an implant fitted, are due to replace one, or would like yours removed.
An IUD is a small, long-acting contraceptive that sits inside the uterus, and for many people it is a convenient choice, once it is in, there is nothing to remember day to day.
There are two main types, hormonal IUDs, which can also help with heavy or painful periods, and the copper IUD, which is hormone-free. We will talk through which might suit you, how each works, how long it lasts, and what to expect, so the decision feels like yours.
We insert and remove IUDs here at the practice. The appointment is straightforward, though it can be uncomfortable for a short time, and we will explain each step as we go and take it at your pace. You are welcome to ask for pain relief options, a longer appointment, or a female doctor, and we will make sure you feel looked after before, during, and after.
When the time comes to replace or remove it, or if you would like it out sooner for any reason, we can do that here too.
When to book: if you are considering an IUD, are due for a replacement, or would like yours removed.
There is no single right contraceptive, only the one that suits you, and finding it starts with an unhurried conversation.
We can talk you through the full range of options, from the pill and other short-term methods to longer-acting choices such as the contraceptive implant and IUDs. We will look at what matters to you, how each option works, the benefits and the things to weigh up, and any effect on your cycle or future plans for pregnancy. There is no pressure and no judgement, just clear information so you can decide with confidence.
If you choose a longer-acting method, we offer implant and IUD insertion and removal here at the practice, so much of your care can happen in one place with a team you know.
Your needs change over time, and that is completely normal. Whether you are starting out, switching methods, or thinking ahead to a family, we are here whenever you would like to revisit things.
When to book: if you would like to start, change, review, or stop contraception, or talk through what might suit you.
Getting to know what is normal for you is one of the most useful things you can do for your breast health, and we are here to help you do that.
In a breast check, your doctor will talk with you about any changes you have noticed, your family history, and your risk, then carry out a careful examination if that is helpful. It is a good chance to ask questions and to learn what to look for between visits.
If you notice anything that feels different, a lump, a change in shape or skin, or anything that is simply not usual for you, please book in. Most changes turn out to be nothing serious, but it is always worth checking, and we would far rather see you early.
Depending on your age and history, we may also talk with you about mammograms through BreastScreen, and help you arrange one. If anything needs further assessment, we will arrange it promptly and explain each step.
When to book: if you have noticed a change, have a family history you would like to discuss, or would simply like a check and some peace of mind.
Cervical screening is one of the simplest things you can do to look after your long-term health, and we aim to make it as comfortable and unhurried as possible.
The Cervical Screening Test has replaced the old Pap smear. For most people it is recommended every five years from age 25 to 74, and it looks for HPV, the virus that can lead to cervical changes over time. If you are due, or not sure when you last had one, we can check and let you know.
We understand this is a personal appointment, and that for some people it can feel uncomfortable or bring up past experiences. You are welcome to ask for a longer appointment, a female doctor, or a support person in the room. Self-collection is also available for many people, where you take the sample yourself in privacy with our guidance. Whatever helps you feel at ease, we will work around it.
If anything needs a closer look, we will talk you through what it means and what happens next, and stay alongside you through it.
When to book: if you are 25 to 74 and it has been around five years since your last test, or you have any symptoms you would like checked.
