In a breast check, your doctor will talk with you about any changes you have noticed, your family history, and your risk, then carry out a careful examination if that is helpful. It is a good chance to ask questions and to learn what to look for between visits.

If you notice anything that feels different, a lump, a change in shape or skin, or anything that is simply not usual for you, please book in. Most changes turn out to be nothing serious, but it is always worth checking, and we would far rather see you early.

Depending on your age and history, we may also talk with you about mammograms through BreastScreen, and help you arrange one. If anything needs further assessment, we will arrange it promptly and explain each step.
