When it's relevant

A young person who has not seen a GP for a while, is starting to manage their own health, or has something on their mind they may not want to raise at home.

Why it's worth a visit

Adolescence brings changes in mood, sleep, skin, periods and relationships. A GP they know and trust becomes someone they will actually talk to.

How your GP can help

The doctor sees the young person, usually partly on their own, covers what matters to them and explains how confidentiality works.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Book with your regular doctor, or with whoever is available. Meet our doctors.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

Will I be in the room?

For part of the visit, if your teenager is comfortable with that. Time alone with the doctor is a normal part of the appointment.

Is what they say confidential?

Generally yes. The doctor will explain the limits, which relate to safety.

Can a teenager have their own Medicare card?

Yes, from age 15.

Ready when you are.

Book online at any time, or call the front desk during opening hours.
