When it's relevant

Fair skin, many moles, a history of sunburn or outdoor work, a previous skin cancer, or a spot that is new or changing.

Why it's worth a visit

Skin cancer is very common in Australia and most are curable when found early. Many are noticed first by the person or someone close to them.

How your GP can help

Your GP examines your skin from head to toe with a dermatoscope, records anything worth watching and arranges a biopsy or removal where needed.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

How often should I have one?

It depends on your risk. For many people once a year is suggested, and your GP will advise.

How long does it take?

Allow 30 minutes for a full skin check.

What should I do before I come?

Skip make-up, nail polish and fake tan so nothing is hidden.

Can you look at just one spot?

Yes. Book a standard appointment and tell us it is for a single spot.

Ready when you are.
