When it's relevant

You take warfarin and need regular blood tests to check how quickly your blood clots.

Why it's worth a visit

The right dose varies between people and over time. Too little leaves you unprotected and too much raises the risk of bleeding.

How your GP can help

We review each result and tell you what dose to take and when to test next.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Book with your regular doctor, or with whoever is available. Meet our doctors.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

How often will I need a test?

Often at first, then usually every few weeks once your results are steady.

What can affect my result?

Changes in diet, alcohol, illness and other medicines, including some sold without a prescription. Tell us about any changes.

What if I miss a dose?

Call us for advice. Do not double the next dose.
