When it's relevant

Transport for NSW has sent you a form, you are turning 75, you hold a commercial licence, or you have a condition that may affect driving.

Why it's worth a visit

The assessment is a legal requirement in these situations, and it is also a chance to deal with anything that could make driving safer.

How your GP can help

Your GP assesses you against the national Assessing Fitness to Drive standards, completes the form and explains the outcome and any conditions.

Who can help

All of our GPs can help with this.

Book with your regular doctor, or with whoever is available. Meet our doctors.

Your questions answered

A few of the things people often wonder about before booking. If there's something else on your mind, just ask, we're always happy to talk it through.

What should I bring?

The form sent to you, your glasses or contact lenses and a list of your medicines.

What happens from age 85?

Transport for NSW may also require an on-road assessment every two years, or you can choose a modified licence.

Is it covered by Medicare?

Not always. See the fees page or ask when you book.

Ready when you are.
